Pia Wurtzbach is taking a step back to take care of her health and spend more time with her family.

On February 27, the beauty queen shared a life update on her Instagram account talking about her much-needed break as she anticipates for her big day.

She wrote, “You guys must be wondering what I’m doing here in London. I went on a wellness break for a few weeks to check up on ME.”

“I’m grateful to have this time OFF…alam ko mahirap cos lahat tayo we can’t get off work just like that. Madaming responsibilities and all,” she continued, encouraging her followers to check on themselves.

Pia also shared that she has been spending more time with her family, saying, “namiss ko talaga not just to spend time with them but actually do life with them. I also want to focus on a major life event, as you know, I’m getting married soon!” she said.

With her wedding coming soon, Pia also announced that she would also be skipping this year’s London Marathon.

“This also means I had to defer some plans. Unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to join the London Marathon this year,” she said, noting that her supposed run is also for the benefit of Smile Train Philippines, an international nonprofit organization that provides free cleft repair surgery and care for children around the world.

“I have a tendency to be hard on myself especially when it comes to hitting goals and I know marathon training + wedding planning will be a stressful combo,” the podcaster wrote.

Pia went on to share how she prepares for a marathon, saying runners usually undergoes four to six hours of training every day.

“Runners know this but just a little background, prepping for a marathon means 4 to 6 hours training a day and medyo malapit na yung marathon,” she said.

With this, she has decided to focus more on her wedding. “So tough as it may be, I know that deferring my entry this year is the right decision. There will be many more Marathons and getting married is something I wanna focus on first and enjoy preparing for the wedding stress free.”

Pia ended her note wishing her followers are "doing okay."

"…and kung hindi naman, I hope you are getting the support you need."

"As for me, balik Pinas na tayo soon — healthier, stronger and ready to be back in action," she ended.

Pia and Jeremy Jauncey officially started dating in January 2020 and got engaged in May 2022. The couple announced the good news through a short clip of their getaway in Amanpulo, Palawan, with Pia flaunting her engagement ring.

In November 2022, Pia was among those who raced at the New York City Marathon. She completed the 42km marathon in six hours and 29 minutes.

“The NYC Marathon wasn’t a race, it was an experience. A life lesson. Probably the best run of my life,” she wrote, flaunting her medal.
