Pia Wurtzbach and Jeremy Jauncey are now engaged
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach just got engaged to entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey!
Wurtzbach gave her sweet yes to Jauncey during their staycation on luxury island Amanpulo in Palawan. They made the joint announcement through a short Instagram video uploaded on May 6, set to Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere.
"We found the perfect place to celebrate and tell you guys," Wurtzbach and Jauncey said on May 6.
Ahead of the red-letter day, Wurtzbach and Jauncey took to their respective Instagram accounts to show their quality time "in paradise."
"Another day in paradise with my love," she wrote in a post.
The beauty queen also noted that she's been "so busy" in the past few weeks, "training for running every morning with not enough sleep," as well as "powering through shoots, meetings, dinners in between."
"Last Sunday I finally hit a wall so you can imagine how happy I am to be taking a break here at Amanpulo," she said.
As for Jauncey, he said sunsets in the Philippines "are better than anywhere else in the world," especially in Amanpulo when there's "something to celebrate," followed by a wink emoji.
Little did Wurtzbach know that her now-fiancé has been up to something all along.
Jauncey hinted at his plan to pop the question on Instagram Stories. In one story, he posted a photo with a red arrow, saying "Something special happening here later."
In another, he said Wurtzbach is "in for a treat" and that there's been "a bit of pre-planning."
There were rumors of the couple's engagement before in October 2020, furthered by Jauncey's Instagram post that time saying he has "Some BIG BD news coming soon."
In January 2021, however, Pia set the record straight in one of her Instagram Stories that the engagement buzz at the time was "not true."
The beauty queen and the Beautiful Destinations CEO confirmed their relationship when they were featured on the cover of Philippine Tatler's June 2020 issue.
Since then, the couple has been updating their Instagram followers with stunning photos of their trips in different parts of the world. This includes the Santorini in Greece, pristine beaches of Maldives, and the snow mountains of Switzerland. They celebrated their second anniversary on Dec. 31, 2021.
