Ara Davao recalls last days with father Ricky Davao: 'I will never forget those moments'
Actress Ara Davao, the daughter of late veteran actor Ricky Davao with Jackie Lou Blanco, shared her last days with her father before his passing.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the former Batang Quiapo star said she was able to express how much she loves her father via text before he breathed his last.
"During the last days siguro I just kept saying 'I love you, Pa,' 'Goodnight,' and nakaka-respond pa siya ng 'Goodnight,' 'I love you,'" she recalled. "I will never forget those moments talaga."
When asked how she would describe her father, Ara noted how supportive and loving Ricky was to her.
"Super ma-joke din siya and very supportive in anything I do. Hindi kami masyadong [nagsasabi] ng 'I love you' [and] 'I miss you' na mga words pero ano siya, super acts of service," she said.
She continued, "Kahit anong gawin ko, like sa school and nung nag-showbiz ako, super stage father [siya]."
Ricky passed away on May 2 "after bravely facing complications related to cancer," Ara said in an Instagram post. He was 63.
He was previously in a relationship with Jackie Lou. They eventually married in 1989 and had three children, including Ara. They got separated in 2011.
