Three of South Korea's most prominent names will be joining forces for an upcoming American series titled Butterfly.

In a report by Korean entertainment outlet Soompi, Kim Ji Hoon (Flower of Evil), Kim Tae Hee (Hi, Bye Mama), and Park Hae Soo (Squid Game) are set to star in Amazon Prime's upcoming show.

Ji Hoon's agency, Big Picture ENT, recently confirmed that the South Korean actor is set to appear in the spy series, while earlier in January, Tae Hee and Hae Soo confirmed that they would be part of the cast.

Other stars included in the cast were Sean Dulake, Charles Parnell, Sung Dong-il, and Lee Il-hwa, among others.

According to its synopsis, Butterfly, which is based on the graphic novel written by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, follows the narrative of David Jung (played by American actor Daniel Dae Kim), a mysterious former U.S. intelligence agent whose life is destroyed by a decision he makes.

He becomes entangled in the past and is pursued by an agent called Rebecca (played by Reina Hardesty), who has been given the order to kill him.

The spy thriller series set in South Korea will air six episodes.

Other details, such as the premiere date, are yet to be announced.

Ji Hoon received the Best Artist Award at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards. He starred in various hit Korean dramas and movies such as Ballerina, Death's Game, Love to Hate You, Flower of Evil, and Money Heist Korea.

Meanwhile, Tae-Hee, the wife of South Korean singer-songwriter Rain, bagged the 2015 Best Actress awards in the SBS Drama Awards and the 8th Korea Drama Awards, respectively, for her role in the K-drama series Yong-pal. She also starred in hit series such as Hi Bye Mama, Lies Hidden in My Garden, Iris, and recently appeared in the 16th episode of Welcome to Samdal-ri.

On the other hand, Hae-soo is best known worldwide for portraying Cho Sang-woo in the Netflix hit series Squid Game, which earned him a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He also portrayed roles in Prison Playbook, Narco-Saints, and Money Heist: Korea, among others.
