Chelsea Fernandez to represent Sultan Kudarat in Miss Universe Philippines 2025
Former Binibining Pilipinas Globe queen Chelsea Fernandez is returning to the pageant stage for Miss Universe Philippines 2025.
“Hello, U! Excited to share that I am officially your @themissuniverseph - Sultan Kudarat!” she announced in an Instagram post.
“Grateful for this incredible opportunity, taking another leap of faith for all of you who have always believed in me. A heartfelt thank you to my province, Sultan Kudarat, for this chance and trust,” she continued.
“Together, let us embrace the universe!”
When asked why she should be the next Miss Universe Philippines, Chelsea took pride in how she has evolved into a better version of herself, and that she believes she has more to show to the Universe.
“I should be the next Miss Universe Philippines because why not? You have seen me [compete] nationally, locally, and even internationally, and I have grown into something very different. I believe I’m a more rounded person now than before, and I believe that there are a lot of things that I can show to the universe,” she said during a press conference held at Sultan Kudarat Provincial Capitol.
Chelsea previously raised the Philippine flag at the Miss Globe 2022 pageant held in Albania. She finished in the Top 15 and won the “Head to Head Challenge,” where the queens talked about their respective advocacies.
She also placed as a runner-up in Miss Philippines Earth 2019 as Miss Philippines Water.
Chelsea set to compete at the upcoming MUPh tilt with other pageant veterans like Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Winwyn Marquez and Miss Earth Air 2023 Yllana Aduana.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization will announce its official list of delegates on Saturday, Feb. 15.
