IU on talking to Lee Jong-suk about acting: 'I tend to ask for SOS a lot from my boyfriend'
IU has revealed that she takes acting advice from her boyfriend, K-drama star Lee Jong-suk.
"Of course, I talk about acting with my boyfriend (Jong-suk)," the singer-actress told South Korean media outlet NewsCulture in an interview published on Monday, April 24.
The Hotel del Luna star asks for pointers when it comes to her concerns or scenes where she lacks confidence.
"When I have a grievance or a scene I'm not sure about, I tend to ask for SOS a lot from my boyfriend, Yoo In-na, other colleagues, and seniors," IU said.
She added that her latest project Dream marked her second big-screen lead role following Broker, which premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
"Actually, it took a little while for the fire to catch on after debuting. It was the same at first with dramas." I can also accept it. There is a sense of accomplishment about getting better and better," the Dream High actress said.
Jong-suk's agency High Zium Studio confirmed that he and IU were dating towards the end of last year. On New Year's Eve, the newly announced couple posted heartwarming letters on their fan pages.
"He is a reliable and cute person who has supported me for a long time, always told me I’m amazing, and sent me sincere encouragement," IU wrote, referring to the love of her life.
Jong-suk also had heart-fluttering words about IU at the time: "She is an amazing person who helps me with my path and concerns of life as a friend, is someone I can rely on, is younger but sometimes feels older, and is like a grown adult but also someone I want to protect."
Aside from Hotel del Luna and Dream High, IU is also known for her roles in Bel Ami, The Producers, and My Mister, among others. Jong-suk, meanwhile, has starred in Pinocchio, Doctor Stranger, While You Were Sleeping, and more.
