Yoon Chan Young says kiss scene with Park Ji Hu in ‘All of Us Are Dead’ was his first kiss in real life

Yup, Chan Young’s first kiss was captured onscreen—thanks to All of Us Are Dead’s dramatic 11th episode.

Yoon Chan Young revealed in an episode of the Korean variety show Knowing Bros that his kiss scene with onscreen partner Park Jihu was his first kiss in real life.

To recall, All of Us Are Dead’s 11th episode showed Lee Cheong San (Yoon Chan Young) saying his final goodbye to childhood friend and longtime crush Nam On Jo (Park Ji Hu) before turning into a zombie. Cheong San, who’s overwhelmed with emotions, didn’t hold back from kissing and hugging On-jo before sending her off to safety.

“To be honest, that was the first kiss of my whole life,” Chan Young revealed, as per a translation by Soompi. “No, it really was. I started acting when I was a kid, and over the years as I kept acting, I started worrying, ‘If I keep this up, I might really end up having my first kiss in one of my acting projects.’ I’d thought that for several years, but that day, it really happened.”

Chan Young shared that he contacted Ji Hu before filming their kiss scene because he “didn’t know what to do.” The actor added that his leading lady is not as nervous since her first kiss was done in a different project.

“I really didn’t know what to do, so the night before we filmed that scene, I called Ji Hu on the phone and asked her, ‘What should we do tomorrow?’” he said.

The All of Us Are Dead star also revealed that their noses bumped during their first take because of his “lack of experience.”

As it turns out, this was not the first time that Chan Young talked about his first kiss with Ji Hu. The actor also talked about his kiss scene in a report from Koreaboo in February 2022.

“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but that was my first kiss. When we first started the scene, our lips didn’t touch. Our noses blocked it. At the time, I thought ‘Huh? What am I supposed to do.’ It was a sad scene, but the producer showed us the reel on the monitor while laughing. They said it was cute,” Chan Young was quoted as saying.

More than a month since its release, All of Us Are Dead starring Yoon Chan Young, Park Ji Hu, Cho Yi Hyun, and Park Solomon remains one of Netflix PH’s most popular series.

The zombie K-drama is currently ranked eighth out of Netflix PH’s top 10 series, as of this writing.
