Cardi B deletes Twitter, Instagram accounts after being slammed for skipping 2022 Grammys
Despite being nominated for a Best Rap Performance award, Cardi B skipped the 64th Grammy Awards—something her fans did not take well.
On Twitter, followers expressed their disappointment over her absence, claiming the rapper led them to believe she was attending the ceremony.
"Why hype us up if you know you're not going from the jump? [Cardi] needs to take her fans seriously cuz this is getting ridiculous I'm sorry," one fan tweeted.
"I bet yo son wouldn't like for you to be on your a** while teasing us fans and not ever dropping music," another user said in a now-deleted tweet. Cardi responded to this fan, telling them "I hope your moms die."
The rapper continued to lash out at fans after a Twitter user called her child autistic.

Fed up with the messages, Cardi deleted her Twitter account after lashing out at her 'dumba** fan base.
"I'm deleting Twitter but On God I hate this f***ing dumba** fan base. You got the slow dumba**** dragging my kids all cause y'all thought I was going to the Grammys and I didn't the f**k? When the f**k I hinted I was going? Just f***ing stupid I can't I needs to protect myself," she wrote on April 4.
On her Instagram, Cardi posted stories about her whereabouts, which showed she was in New York, not at the Grammys in Las Vegas. The WAP rapper has also deleted her Instagram account hours after she deactivated her account on Twitter.

"When did I ever give hints that I'm going to the Grammys for you to be calling me lazy for not going to an awards [show]? What?" she said on Instagram Live. "Why would I go to an awards for? Do I have new music? Why would I show up with one nomination—and I lost anyways? I don't like that s**t."
Cardi was nominated for Best Rap Performance, alongside Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, J. Cole, as well as Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar, who took home the award for Family Ties.
"When my own f***ing fans talk s**t about me, that really pissed the f**k out of me."

Last year, Cardi also sparked controversy during the Grammys with her raunchy performance of WAP alongside Megan Thee Stallion, which received over 1,000 complaints at the Federal Communications Commission.
Throughout her career, Cardi has earned nine Grammy nominations with one win in 2019 for Best Rap Album.
