'My 600-lb. Life' star Dolly Martinez's cause of death revealed

The mother of Dolly Martinez has revealed what caused the death of the reality TV star at 30 years old.

According to an exclusive report by TMZ, her mother Staci Thurman said that the My 600-lb. Life alum died due to congestive heart failure. 

The media outlet reported that Martinez had been struggling with health issues for some time. She was admitted to the hospital on March 29 due to fluid buildup in her heart and lungs. "She was put into a medically induced coma and placed on a ventilator the next day—but never recovered," per TMZ.

Martinez's sister Lindsey Cooper announced her passing in a Facebook post last weekend, saying her sibling had "the brightest personality."

"She could light up any room with her laughter, her kindness, and her loving spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her warmth will stay with us forever," she said.

"While our hearts are broken here, I find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with our dad in heaven. I can only imagine the joy of that reunion," she continued. "Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never forgotten."

Martinez appeared in Season 10 of the TLC series My 600-lb. Life when she was 25. On the show, she openly talked about her struggles with food addiction and mental health. She weighed 593 pounds, then, and was dependent on oxygen and in need of assistance with daily tasks.
