Cristine Reyes is mourning the death of her adoptive father Demetrio Pascual.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, April 20, the actress posted a video of her last visit to Demetrio's home as a tribute to him. He died on April 17.

"Itong video na ito ang huling alaala na itatabi ko. Ang ating huling salo-salo sa ating munting tahanan na punong-puno ng masasayang alaala. Ang iyong huling ngiti at halakhak dito ang palagi kong aalalahanin, daddy," she began.

"Sorry kung hindi ko na kinaya makita ka sa ospital. Pinagsisisihan ko na hindi kita nahagkan sa iyong huling hininga," she added.

Cristine said that while they're grieving the loss of her adoptive parent, they take comfort in knowing he's now in a better place.

"Luhaan man kami ngayon, alam namin na payapa ka na," she wrote. "Hindi ka namin makakalimutan, daddy. Kulang ang salitang 'salamat,' Dy."

She thanked Demetrio for feeding her, guiding her, taking care of her, and filling her with love during her childhood years. "Napakaswerte namin lahat sa’yo sa lahat ng binigay mo na walang katumbas na halaga," she said. "Ikaw ang tunay naming kayamanan."

"Rest in peace, Daddy Metreng. Daddy Yow. Lolo Dad," added Cristine.

Cristine opened up about being adopted in a 2024 interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila. "My mom, she was going through a phase in her life where she had to go to the States, leave all her kids, all of us to somebody else," she recalled. "Ako lang nahiwalay, I didn't know mga kapatid ko." She reunited with her mother when she was around 6 or 7, though she remained close to her adoptive family in the years that followed.
