Published Feb 01, 2025 10:28 am

Lily Collins is now a mom!

The actress shared the good news that she has welcomed her first child with her husband, film director and writer Charlie McDowell, via surrogate.

"Welcome to the center of our world, Tove Jane McDowell," Lily wrote on her Instagram post as she teased a glimpse of their bundle of joy all snug in a bassinet.

The new parents also prepared a personalized blanket with Tove's name stitched in gold.

"Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way," Lily said. "We love you to the moon and back again…"

In the comments section, many of her followers showered the couple with their heartiest congratulations and well-wishes for their parenthood journey.

"This is so beautiful! I seriously could not love this more! Enjoy this season—it’s the best one yet!" one user said.

"Now there’s a 'Baby in Paris,'" wrote another, referencing Lily's show Emily in Paris.

The Hollywood star previously opened up about how she wanted to have a family one day, adding that it helped her overcome her past eating disorder.

"When I was younger, I wanted to reach this image of what I thought perfection was and I equated that with—well, with what you see in the media; you think body shape has to a lot do with being perfect. I wanted to control how I got there," she said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.

"I controlled how I ate and looked. Then, as I grew older, I realized that perfection doesn't exist and my priorities have shifted because I want a family one day. I don't want these self-imposed issues to affect whether or not I can have kids—because the reality is you can't have children when you're ill like that," she added.

Lily and Charlie started their romance in 2019. They got engaged the following year and then tied the knot in a dreamy wedding in Colorado in 2021.
