Denise Richards unhurt after anonymous driver shot at her in road rage incident
Denise Richards and her husband are safe and sound after an armed motorist shot at them in downtown Los Angeles.
According to a report from Hollywood paparazzi site TMZ, the actress and her husband, Aaron Phypers, were driving in Los Angeles when a driver was trying to squeeze in front of them on the road.
With Phypers at the wheel, he eventually let the other driver go ahead, but not before the irritated driver pulled out a gun and shot at their truck.
No one was injured, however, Richards was visibly shaken by the incident and arrived sobbing on the set of Popsicle Studios in LA.
"The guy had taken off by then, but when they realized the car was shot, they were really freaked out, and the production secured the scene," a source close to the couple told People.
"Even though they were upset, [Richards] decided to stay and film. Her role was just a one-day deal... The production company made her feel safe but they didn't file a police report," the source added.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)also told NBC News that they have no ongoing investigation of the case: "We don't even know where it happened at this point," an officer Melissa Podany shared.
In a tweet shortly after the incident, Richards called out a netizen who made light of her situation.
"What I experienced yesterday with my husband, not that you care," the actress wrote.
"Was the most terrifying situation I have ever been in. I’m sorry a shot didn’t graze my neck…a--hole."
