Mikael Daez is now on a "very long road to recovery" after sustaining a major leg injury during a basketball game.

On his Instagram post, the actor shared his journey after the incident.

"A few weeks ago, I ruptured my [A]chilles tendon…possibly the scariest basketball-related injury I could imagine. But at this point in my life, I guess we take whatever curveballs life throws at us," he wrote in his caption. In the video compilation, Daez was seen suddenly falling to the ground while playing basketball.

"Sports-wise, this might be the worst injury to have, but honestly, I'm in good spirits," Daez narrated on his video.

He said that his priority is to get back to walking to help his wife, Megan Young, take care of their firstborn, Leon.

"Then, over the long run, I can re-learn how to run and jump alongside my son," he added.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the Calcaneal, or Achilles tendon, is the tendon at the back of the leg, right above the ankle. It's the tissue that connects calf muscles to the heel bone, which helps in moving the foot and ankle, like walking, running, climbing stairs, or standing on tiptoes.

"From what I’ve gathered, it’s going to be a very long road to recovery, but I’m always up for a challenge, [PS] moving around [on] crutches is tough," he said.

Fans and his celebrity friends expressed their well-wishes for his recovery in the post's comments section.

"Woahhh! Get well soon, bro!!" actor Rocco Nacino wrote.

"Geeez bruh! Speedy recovery! Welcome to the 30s era, but then wait for the 40s haha," Eric "Eruption" Tai commented.

"Heal well, brother," TV host Ryan Agoncillo also commented.

Daez recently welcomed his first child with Young in May.
