WATCH: Suspense action scenes, past horrors in the present teased in 'Gyeongseong Creature' season 2 trailer
Are you ready to unravel the twists of fate in Gyeongseong (Seoul) in the present time?
Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the second season of the Korean thriller series, Gyeongseong Creature, which will be available for streaming starting Sept. 27.
In the trailer, the second season will shift from the turbulent spring of Gyeongseong in 1945 to the modern world of 2024 in Seoul. It first showed Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee) waking up and recalling her past after drinking the Najin. She crosses paths with a new character named Jang Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon) who bears a striking resemblance to someone she met in the past, Jang Tae-sang.
“So it’s not over, then. This hell,” Chae-ok narrated. The trailer also showed new faces including Kuroko Leader (Lee Mu-saeng) leading Kurokos, an elite group of operatives seemingly making a sinister plan in a lab.
It also introduced Seung-jo (Bae Hyeon-seong), who is seemingly haunting Ho-jae and Chae-ok.
The trailer showed intense action scenes while hinting at mysterious events, past horrors that may recur, and the “weight of karma” that will be unraveled in each episode.
The first season tackled the discovery of a deadly creature that was made from an experiment done by a military scientist in charge of the heavily restricted Ongseong Hospital—where dozens of Joseon people were trapped in a basement, including Chae-ok's mother.
Chae-ok and Tae-sang go on a suspenseful mission to end the experiment for good while fighting off the antagonist Lady Maeda (played by Claudia Kim).
Gyeongseong Creature is directed by Jung Dong-yoon and written by Kang Eun-kyung who also wrote hit series including Dr. Romantic, Forecasting Love and Weather, and Kang Chi, The Beginning.
