(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon to pause activities due to health condition
(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon will take a temporary break from their group's activities due to her health problems.
Cube Entertainment, the girl group’s agency, released an announcement regarding the K-pop idol's health condition on Saturday, June 1, saying she was advised by her doctors to get some rest for now.
“We have decided to suspend all schedules for the time being to focus on resting and recovering health as a priority,” the management said.
This means Soyeon will not be part of (G)I-DLE’s upcoming appearances, including their fan meeting.
The agency also asked for their fans’ understanding, saying that the decision was made “with consideration of the artist’s health.”
“We appreciate your understanding and we will make every effort to recover the artist’s health and condition,” they added.
Soyeon was also absent from the group’s performance at the recently concluded Hansung University festival. Their show went viral after an audience member stepped in and sang her opening lines for Super Lady.
The girl group is set to hold their third world tour, “i-DOL,” which will have 19 concerts across Asia, Australia, and the United States. It will kick off in Seoul’s KSPO dome on Aug. 3.
(G)I-DLE consists of five members: Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, Miyeon, and Shuhua. They debuted in 2018 and are best known for their hit songs Nxde, TOMBOY, and My Bag, among others.
The Korean quintet gave Filo Neverlands the show of their lives during their Manila concert in September, as part of their Just Me ( )I-DLE world tour.
