Bruno Mars jokes he'll be 'out of debt in no time' after becoming first artist to get 150 million monthly Spotify listeners
Bruno Mars is soaring through new heights in his music career after he was recognized as the first artist to reach 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The achievement comes after the Filipino-American singer had a successful run in the past year, collaborating with fellow renowned musicians Lady Gaga and BLACKPINK's Rosé to make the hit songs Die with a Smile and APT., respectively.
Bruno later shared the news on his Instagram stories, where he didn't hesitate to poke fun at himself regarding a gambling rumor that hounded him in the past.
"Keep streaming! I’ll be out of debt in no time," he wrote.

Bruno appeared to be pertaining to rumors that he owes MGM Resorts, a global hospitality and entertainment company, a substantial debt. The rumors started after a report from News Nation alleged that the singer has racked up debts of about $50 million (~P2.7 billion) in gambling.
According to a Vegas insider, Bruno made $90 million (P5.02 billion) from his concert residency but had to pay back his gambling bill after taxes.
However, MGM Resorts has since addressed these claims and stressed that they are "completely false."
"We're proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world's most thrilling and dynamic performers. From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno's brand of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe," the company wrote in a statement.
"MGM and Bruno's partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM," it read.
Bruno previously opened up about his history with gambling and how he paid his rent after moving to Los Angeles by playing cards.
Apart from Die with a Smile and APT., the music artist is also finding success with his recently released song Fat, Juicy & Wet, in collaboration with rapper Sexyy Red.
The music video, which features both Lady Gaga and Rosé, has received 11 million views as of writing.
"Only Bruno Mars can manage to bring Sexyy [R]ed, Lady [G]aga, and Rosé in one video. Iconic," one user wrote.
The song's suggestive lyrics drew mixed reactions, with some jokingly asking, "What happened to buying her flowers, catching a grenade, just having a chat with the moon, being locked out of heaven, and when you used to be her man??"
