Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray revealed that she met up with Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi and gave her some advice ahead of the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.

In an interview with reporter Dyan Castillejo shared on Saturday, Jan. 14, Catriona said their dinner took place two months before Celeste’s flight to New Orleans for the tilt. “I had a conversation with her before she flew. We had dinner together,” she shared.

At the time, Catriona advised her to prepare as much as she can for the prestigious competition. “What I really told her was that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Prepare as much as you can beforehand because we had this sitdown, I think, two months before she flew out.”

“So prepare as much as you can, and when you get there, enjoy the experience, enjoy the time with the girls because it’s a moment that goes by so fast,” added Catriona.

The beauty queen and singer, who will serve as a backstage commentator alongside TV personality Zuri Hall at the Miss U 2022 coronation night, expressed her excitement for Celeste as she vies for the highly coveted title on Sunday, Jan. 15 (Philippine time). “I’m really excited for her. She’s really staying true to herself. She’s told me she’s ensuring that her mental space is really safe and that she’s comfortable.”

Celeste is looking to take home the fifth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines at the 71st edition of the pageant. It will be streamed live on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC from the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Same-day replays will also be available at 10:30 p.m. on the same channels.
