J-Hope of the K-pop group BTS has donated 100 million won to support the victims of the Jeju Air flight crash at Muan International Airport.

According to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, J-Hope has made a significant contribution of 100 million won (PhP 3.9 million) to support the relief efforts for those impacted by the recent incident in South Jeolla Province.

"Hope Bridge is continuing to provide necessary support to the families of the victims of the passenger plane accident that occurred on December 29, 2024. We are providing emergency support such as hot packs, daily necessities, food, and winter kits to the victims and rescue workers, and are operating a laundry relief vehicle and a physical and mental recovery vehicle," they wrote on Instagram.

They added that they will carefully assess the most critical needs on-site and will work diligently to provide swift support.

J-Hope, who completed his military service last Oct. 17, 2024, reportedly said, “Upon hearing about the accident, I decided to make this donation to offer even a small measure of support to the bereaved families. I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.”

J-Hope is a dedicated member of the "Hope Bridge Honors Club" for high-value donors and has a history of supporting relief efforts during national disasters, such as his 100 million won contribution towards flood relief in 2023.

Apart from him, Squid Game Season 2 star Im Si-wan also donated to the same organization.

In a statement, Si-wan said: "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their beloved family members overnight."

Rapper DinDin, comedian Park Na-rae, and Culinary Class Wars contestant Ahn Yu-seong, who collaborated with other chefs and restaurant owners to provide 1,000 servings of meals, also donated.

On Dec. 29, 2024, a Jeju Air jet tragically crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea, resulting in the deaths of 179 people, including 175 passengers and four crew members. Only two crew members survived.
