LA Tenorio is now cancer-free after latest test in Singapore

Filipino basketball player LA Tenorio is now clear from cancer!

Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone confirmed the good news to reporters at the Gilas Pilipinas press conference. The results came after Tenorio's latest chemotherapy in Singapore.

On his X (formerly Twitter) account, the basketball star shared a report of him being cancer-free with the caption, "God is Good!"

Tenorio first revealed his battle with stage 3 colon cancer back in March this year. It was for this reason that he was unable to participate in the rest of the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup instead of the apparent groin injury he suffered from a previous game.

"As most of you are aware I have been nursing a minor injury since the Finals last January. I used that as the reason for my sudden absence. My sincerest apologies to all. With my profession in sports tied in health and entertainment, it will be very difficult to keep the real reason a secret any longer and will only lead to unnecessary gossips, fake news and misinterpretations. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer," Tenorio detailed in a statement.

The 38-year-old playmaker shared that he had already completed his surgery at the time and will undergo further treatment in the next few months in Singapore.

Known for his great skills as a point guard and his passing ability, Tenorio has won eight PBA championships and is a four-time Finals MVP.
