Cindy Crawford's son Presley Gerber dies at 27
Presley Gerber, model and only son of actress-supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
According to a TMZ report, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office said that Gerber passed away on Sunday, Sept. 20, while staying at a rehabilitation facility.
The exact cause of his death remains undetermined, with autopsy results still pending.
A spokesperson for the Crawford-Gerber family later issued a brief statement confirming his passing. "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," it read.
Born in July 1999, Gerber followed in his famous mother's footsteps and entered the fashion industry at a young age. He went on to walk the runway for luxury fashion houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Calvin Klein, and starred in campaigns alongside his younger sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber.
Over the years, Presley was open about his personal struggles with mental health, addiction, and the pressure of living in the public eye.
In December 2018, when he was 19, Presley was arrested for DUI in Beverly Hills. He pleaded no contest in 2019, receiving three years of probation, community service, and mandatory DUI classes. He later spoke about the incident as a major wake-up call that pushed him to address his health.
In early 2020, he made headlines when he got the word “misunderstood” tattooed across his right cheekbone. Addressing the backlash at the time, he explained that the ink reflected how he had felt “his entire life,” though he later had the facial tattoo removed.
In a 2023 interview on the Studio 22 Podcast, Presley spoke candidly about his battle with chronic depression and anxiety. “Having struggled with mental health, depression, and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said.
Prior to his death, Presley used his Instagram account to share updates during "Mental Health Mondays." In these posts, he openly talked about seeing doctors for panic attacks, dealing with anxiety, and trying his best to stay sober in a healthy environment.
