Son Ye Jin, Lee Byung Hun in talks to star in new thriller film
Son Ye Jin and Lee Byung Hun may soon star in an upcoming thriller film.
According to a report by K-entertainment outlet Soompi, the actors’ agencies, MStema Entertainment and BH Entertainment revealed that the two are “positively” reviewing the offer to star in the new thriller film, which will be helmed by Park Chan Wook—who also directed horror/thriller films The Handmaiden, Decision to Leave, Lady Vengeance, and Oldboy.
More details about the film including the plot, their roles, and other cast have yet to be revealed.
If this pushes through, this will be Ye Jin and Byung Hun’s first project together. This is also will be the latter’s first project with director Park Chan Wook in 20 years since they last worked together in the horror film Three...Extremes.
The project will also become Ye Jin’s first project in two years after starring in the drama series, Thirty-Nine which aired its last episode in March 2022.
Some of Son Ye Jin’s notable roles in TV series and films include Crash Landing On You, Something in the Rain, A Moment to Remember, and The Negotiation.
Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun is known for his roles in Mr. Sunshine, Our Blues, and the 2023 thriller film Concrete Utopia with Park Seo Joon. He is also set to return in the second season of Squid Game slated to premiere in 2024.
