Nam Joo Hyuk begins mandatory military service
It seems like we won't be seeing another oppa for some time.
South Korean actor Nam Joo-Hyuk has already started his mandatory military service, his talent management confirmed on Thursday, March 23.
The 29-year-old Twenty Five, Twenty One star will be undergoing basic military training for about 18 to 20 weeks.
In the official statement of his agency, the SOOP, they asked the fans to refrain from sending letters and gifts to the actor while he is serving in the military.
“We appreciate and thank you for your support, however, if a large number of letters and posts arrive at once, they might not be delivered,” the agency said.
Further, fans who still want to sned their support for the actor may “send letters or anything else by mail to the management company.”
Joo-Hyuk will serve in the military police after being accepted for the Military Police Task Force of the Capital Defense Command.
The actor just wrapped up filming of his upcoming drama, Vigilante. He will be playing the role of Ji Yong, a police university student who chases down criminals every weekend.
The webtoon-based series is expected to be released in May 2023 on Disney+.
