Bretman Rock flaunts tribal tattoo made through traditional pagbabatok method

Beauty influencer Bretman Rock is rocking a new tattoo that was made through the traditional tattooing method of indigenous people.

In a series of photos on his Instagram account, Bretman flaunted his tribal ink from his pagbabatok session, which is a traditional style of tattooing that is native to the Cordillera region. It is done by attaching a thorn to one end of a stick and dipping it into ink, then hand-tapping it into the skin while following a pattern.

For Bretman's case, the Filipino-American social media personality chose a vertical tattoo etched around his spine, which he shared was inspired by an indigenous tribal design.

"My Tatak ceremony was truly unforgettable. I can’t wait to share all about it with you guys one day," Bretman wrote in his caption.

"But for now it’s between me and Lilang who I always talk about in all my interviews and you can learn more about her on my book. Oh, and my loved ones of course," he added.

In early March, Bretman returned to the Philippines to promote his new memoir titled You're That Bitch, which was highly inspired by his childhood, his family, and his experience as a Filipino immigrant in America. It contains essays about his "funny and inspiring celebration of self, identity, queerness, and his Filipino heritage," according to National Book Store's website.

After his successful book signing event, he expressed his gratitude to his Filipino supporters, highlighting that all the love he got from them "changed his life forever."
