Disneyland’s viral Evil Queen confirms departure after 8 years

Sabrina Von B, the actress who has gone viral for her portrayal of Snow White's Evil Queen at Disneyland, confirmed that she has now been terminated from the theme park after eight years working with them.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Sabrina reflected on her experience bringing the character to life as she interacted with guests in the theme park.

"It was a dream getting to do my own spin on a character that really wasn't popular or viral or well-known before videos of me really started going around," she said.

"I read a lot of comments about people saying they would've never loved this character, but now it is their favorite character. That really was an honor to be able to bring a Disney villain to life, and also not be evil, but put a more comical spin on it and create joy for people and make people smile, all while being a villain, was very rewarding," she added.

According to Sabrina, she had been playing the character for nearly a decade now, starting from the age of 18 up to when she was 26 years old.

While she also played other villainous characters such as Maleficent, Agatha Harkness and Lady Tremaine, she most commonly portrayed the Evil Queen.

"I don't take it lightly that these experiences that I created for people are stories and things that they will take with them, for years to come, and hopefully make them like villains more and get on the side of villains and not just be scared of them," Sabrina said.

As the character, Sabrina would roam around the park and try to interact with the guests in her Evil Queen persona, often engaging in savage roasts and hilarious insults. She shared that she would sometimes surprise herself at how witty her comebacks would be.

Despite her fun job, Sabrina said that it was also physically and mentally demanding.

"You have to wear a costume, and a lot of the time in California, it gets really hot. Preparing mentally, hydrating for the job, making sure your skin is up to par, making sure you sleep, eating enough the night before to have energy to do such a demanding role. Flipping that cape day in and day out was not easy," she said.

She also noted how her role became more challenging when videos of her started becoming viral on social media as Disney didn't want her identity to become public.

"With Disney, it is a bit scary because they want to protect the magic, and in the comments, people were trying to get my identity. It is scary because Disney wants to protect the magic, and I'll say that I protected the magic all the way until the end, and I never came out publicly and said like, 'This is me,' or anything until they ultimately let me go. That's when I spoke out publicly on it," she said.

Despite being let go, Sabrina highlighted that she remains deeply grateful for the years she spent at Disneyland and the memories she helped create.

"I'm very grateful that those videos live on the internet. It was surreal then. It is surreal now, and I really will never live down that feeling for sure," she said.

Now Sabrina told the news outlet that she has a "few projects coming out over the next few months" and is hoping to become an actress on the Broadway stage or join a national tour.

"I am super excited for what is next in my career, and I'm so happy that people wanna see not just the Queen, but they want to see from me as well," she said.
