Issa Pressman on being bisexual: 'I've been blessed to experience love with both men and women'

Issa Pressman took the time to reflect on her journey to coming out as bisexual.

In a recent Instagram post, the local personality shares a series of pictures of herself having fun with her older sister Yassi as she detailed how she told her family about her sexuality.

"My sister was the first phone call I made. At 16, I was living alone. One night, I couldn't sleep, I decided to come out to her," Issa wrote. "It was surprising news for her, but she accepted me. If any, it was the start of us being solid."

Despite Yassi being totally cool with Issa's sexuality, her dad "wasn't for it" but the love between them reigned supreme above all.

"A couple of years later, I told my dad. He was honest, he wasn't for it, but said 'If this is what makes you happy, then be it,' and he was there for me all the way," Issa recounted.

The Filipino-British content creator highlighted that she would not be the "expressive, honest, and free" person that she is today if it weren't for the people who allowed her to live her life on her own terms.

"My own home and family accepted me, didn't stop nor judge me... so then, I felt like no one else can," she wrote.

"I've been blessed to experience love with both men and women. Blessed to be seeing who they are and how they loved me. Seeing beyond the physical. It's the heart, personality, dreams, and the connection that becomes the basis of my relationship," she continued.

Issa ended her message by encouraging people to support their loved ones in their decision to become their most authentic selves.

"My character, bravery, and honesty might have gone south if it weren't for them. So may I inspire each household, friend group, and work environment to accept and respect a loved one who wishes to or is too scared to come out," Issa wrote.

"At the end of the day, we should be on the side of happiness. We want to see the people we love grow. Let them be proud."

Issa first opened up about her sexual orientation in 2018 when she revealed that she was happily in love with DJ Marga Bermudez. She is now rumored to be in a relationship with James Reid.
