Heidi Klum dresses up as a worm for Halloween: 'I like to do something unexpected'
From Princess Fiona to a ... worm? With Heidi Klum, anything is possible.
Klum, who is known for her out-of-this-world Halloween costumes, arrived (or shall we say crawled on) the red carpet at her Halloween Party in a very realistic gigantic worm costume. The supermodel was accompanied by husband Tom Kaulitz, who came as a fisherman with a bloody eye.
The America's Got Talent judge told Vogue that it took her two years to conceptualize the look.
“I like to do something unexpected, so I tried to think of a costume that is super absurd, but also very familiar,” Klum told the publication.
“Because it is Halloween, you need the creepy factor, also a bit gross and disgusting.”
She chose to come as a worm and loved the idea of bringing "random species in nature" to life.
“This year, there was nothing human about this at all, so I was really transformed,” she says. “I loved that this was a random species in nature that is being scaled up and brought to life,” Klum shared.
With the help of makeup artist Mike Marino and his team at Prosthetic Renaissance, Klum was able to achieve her dream costume, which was made of a prosthetic shell and a special effect facepiece that molded perfectly to her face. It took the team 10 hours to make the costume.
After two years of no parties due to COVID-19, Klum's much-anticipated Halloween party returns, this time at Sake No Hana in New York City. The 21st edition of her annual Halloween party was attended by celebrities and personalities including Julia Fox, Queer Eye's Antoni Porowski, Victoria's Secret model Taylor Hill, Elon Musk, Jeremy Scott, and more. Her daughter, Leni Klum, also attended the shindig as Catwoman.
In the past, Klum has dressed up as Princess Fiona, a flesh-eating alien, an old version of herself, and clones of herself.
