The cause of death of actress Sue Prado has been disclosed by her family.

During the local star's urn viewing at Loyola Memorial Chapels & Crematorium, Quezon City last week, her eldest sister Guia Antonette Mera pointed to cardiac arrest as the cause of Prado's death.

When asked for more details about Prado's death, Mera shared that they don't know the exact time of her passing.

“Tinatawagan siya; hindi siya nakokontak. Tapos pinuntahan siya ni Neil [Daza]. Ayun na,” she said.

Mera opened up on how difficult it was to break the news to their mother. ‘Ano?!’ ‘Wala na si Sue.’ ‘Bakit?! Bakit?!’ Mera detailed. “Tapos pinupukpok niya yung dibdib niya. Tapos nagpakuwento na, nagpakuwento na."

Per Mera, Prado's passing hit their mother the hardest.

Mamaya, maaalala niya. Pinababayaan namin," she shared.

‘Naniniwala ba kayo? Naniniwala ka ba? Anong nangyari?’"

Prado died at the age of 44 on Thursday, April 16, as revealed by her sister May Shereen Prado.

Prado appeared in several indie films and on mainstream TV. Some of her notable roles were in Oro, Barber's Tales, Thelma, Dagsin, and Your Mother's Son, for which she earned a Best Actress nomination at the 8th EDDYs Awards.

Her latest acting work includes Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters, My Father's Wife, select episodes on FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, and the film Desperada.
