Kim Hye-yoon, Lomon to star in new fantasy rom-com drama
Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon will star in a new fantasy rom-com drama together.
South Korean TV network SBS confirmed on Wednesday, Sept. 4 that the two will lead the upcoming drama, Human Starting from Today, K-media outlet Soompi reported.
The fantasy rom-com drama will follow the story of Eun-ho (Hye-yoon), a gumiho. ICYDK, a gumiho is a nine-tailed fox common in legends known to lure men and eat their liver in hopes of becoming a human. However, Eun Ho’s character will live a carefree life while “avoiding good deeds and men for fear of becoming human.”
Despite this, her life takes an unexpected turn when she becomes a human after an accident involving a narcissistic star soccer player named Kang Si-yeol (Lomon).
Si-yeol is described as a world-class soccer player known for his confidence and drive. Keeping all his notable achievements aside, his only fear is losing muscle. “His seemingly perfect life is thrown into chaos when the nine-tailed fox Eun Ho arrives, bringing unexpected upheaval,” the description read.
Sportskeeda reported that the upcoming drama will be directed by Kim Jung-kwon, who's known for his work in Are We in Love? and Heartbreak Library. Meanwhile, the screenplay will be by Park Chan-young and Cho Ah-young.
Before this, Hye-yoon starred in the hit K-drama Lovely Runner with Byeon Woo-seok and was part of other dramas True Beauty, SKY Castle, and Snowdrop.
Lomon, meanwhile, played roles in hit shows including All of Us Are Dead, Lookism, and Branding in Seongsu.
