Is Anna Sorokin going to be in 'Dancing with the Stars' season 33

Fake heiress Anna Sorokin, the subject of Netflix's hit series Inventing Anna, is rumored to be joining the 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars.

Page Six reported that the 33-year-old artist-turned-fashion publicist was permitted to travel to Los Angeles to film the reality TV series as the terms of her house arrest were relaxed.

ICYDK, Sorokin, who is also known as Anna Delvey, is a con artist who posed as a German heiress to scam wealthy socialites in New York City.

In 2017, the fraudster was arrested during a sting operation and was later found guilty of eight charges of second-degree grand larceny, theft of services, and attempted grand larceny in April 2019.

Sorokin was released early from prison in February 2021 and taken under the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's custody for overstaying her visa. She was placed on house arrest later in 2022.

Recently, the ex-con launched a fashion PR agency with Kelly Cutrone.

Page Six also said that the social media ban on Sorokin was lifted on August 16.

In January 2023, Sorokin was said to be producing a reality show titled Delvey's Dinner Club while under house arrest.

Sorokin's crimes inspired the Netflix series Inventing Anna by Shonda Rhimes. It starred Julia Garner as the scammer and Anna Chlumsky as journalist Vivian Kent.
