8-year-old 'The Glory' actress Oh Ji-yul reveals she has a boyfriend
South Korean child actress Oh Ji-yul is the latest cast member of The Glory to reveal dating news.
The eight-year-old confirmed that she has a boyfriend in a recent MZ Interview video uploaded on OBS-ENT's YouTube channel.
“We go to the same school and live in the same complex. I’ve been keeping an eye on him since I was in first grade. We live in the same complex, so we went home together after school. We were originally close," Ji-yul said.
The child star explained that she fell in love with her boyfriend because he "has a cool personality, he's handsome, good at sports, and attends a Taekwondo academy."
They started dating after she found the courage to ask him one day if he liked her back, to which he replied positively. "Let’s continue to be close," Ji-yul said in a video letter to her boyfriend.
Ji-yul portrayed Ha Ye-sol, the colorblind daughter of bullies Jeon Jae-joon and Park Yeon-jin but was raised by Ha Do-yeong as his own. She became the student of bullied protagonist Moon Dong-eun as part of her long-term revenge.
Ji-yul takes after her on-screen mother Lim Ji-yeon, who played the main bully Yeon-jin.
Ji-yeon, who said The Glory marked her first bully role, has been confirmed to be dating co-star Lee Do-hyun, who was paired in the hit K-drama with Song Hye-kyo.
The Glory revolves around a woman who suffered childhood violence and now dedicates her life to executing a series of vengeful acts against her bullies and their accomplices. Part 1 of the show was released on Dec. 30 last year, while Part 2 was made available on March 10 on Netflix.
