Pinay singer Gwyn Dorado advances to 'Sing Again 4' final round
Filipino singer Gwyn Dorado secured a seat in the finals of Sing Again 4 after receiving an almost perfect score for her performance on Dec. 30.
In the Korean TV audition program's 12th episode, Dorado, 21, sang I Want You, a new piece she worked on with one of the producers of the show, Kim Do Hun.
The show, which airs on Korean TV network JTBC, gives relatively unknown singers the opportunity to sing again onstage, helping them get a second chance in the entertainment industry.
Following Dorado's four-minute performance, seven of the eight judges gave her a score of 100; the eighth gave her 98, earning the singer a total score of 798 from the judges. Contestants of the show are ranked based on the scores they receive from judges and the audience.
"It seems singer [Gwyn] has the highest rating in history. Seven out of eight judges gave 100 points. On the other hand, Cho Kyuhyun's score is only 98. The next song title will be 'I Hate You'," teased host Lee Seung-gi, per X's English translation.
The song she performed holds a special meaning for Dorado.
"Working with Producer Kim Do Hun was like a dream. At first, I was scared if I could really give justice to this beautiful song he has made for me but I'm glad to be guided by Producer Kim Do Hun all throughout the song," Dorado wrote on Facebook. "This song means a lot to me. I loved it from the moment I heard it and I hope you guys will love it like I do too."
The season began with 81 amateur singers. It's now down to four: Dorado (Contestant No. 59), Lee Ohwook (Contestant No. 65), Kim Jaemin (Contestant No. 37), and Seohee (Contestant No. 27). Sing Again 4's final episode airs on Jan. 6, 2026.
According to reports, the overall winner will receive a cash prize of 300 million won (about P2.3 million).
