In a surprise announcement for Love Month, Edgar Allan Guzman and Shaira Diaz revealed they've been engaged for two years!

The video of their proposal was posted by Edgar on his Instagram account, where he revealed that their engagement took place way back in December 2021 during Christmas.

"What happened on 12.25.21 'THE PROPOSAL,'" he captioned.

In the video, the actor could be seen leading a surprised Shaira to a flower-themed backdrop with the words "Will you marry me?" hanging at the center. As they reached the center, he said, "I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Sa harap ng mga mahal natin sa buhay, Shaira Mae Dela Cruz aka Shaira Diaz, will you marry me?"

Smiling through the tears, Shaira embraced her now fiancé as she accepted his proposal. Their adorable dog even joined for a photo as the pair shared a sweet kiss to mark their engagement.

The pair spoke more about their engagement in a recent episode of Unang Hiritwhere they revealed the reason why they decided to hide their engagement from the public for the longest time.

"I respect Shaira a lot so ni-respect ko lang yung time niya. I know na kapag nag-propose ako, baka mag-no ito sa akin, that’s the truth. Pero naniniwala ako sa pagmamahal niya and alam niya na kapag nag-propose ako sa kanya, pag nag-yes siya, I’m willing to wait," Edgar said.

"Maghihintay ako sa kanya. Sa right time niya, sa gusto niyang goal namin na pupuntahan. I’ll wait for her," he added.

Shaira meanwhile explained that it wasn't until now that she felt that she was ready to tell the world about the good news.

"Ngayon ko lang na-feel talaga na reding-ready na ako, ready na akong gumawa ng pamilya in the future. Makasama siya habambuhay. So, sobrang ready na ako, gusto ko nang ipagsigawan sa mundo kung gaano kami nagmamahalan, kung gaano ko siya kamahal," she said.

The couple first met in 2012 and started dating a year later on Feb. 17.
