Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero made new memories as a couple by renewing their wedding vows at Balesin Island, the same venue where they first exchanged “I dos” in 2015.
The two renewed their vows on Thursday, Feb. 15 at The Royal Balesin Villa, where they were joined by their nearest and dearest.
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the best moments and details of their recently concluded wedding.
Heart's bridal look
Heart walked down the aisle in a lavish wedding gown by Lebanese designer Elie Saab.
The beige gown features intricate beading all over the bodice and an ethereal-looking veil.
"Elie Saab has a special place in my heart—it was actually one of the first shows I ever attended in fashion week. I’ve always loved their dreamy and romantic creations, and when I saw the custom couture dress, I knew that was it,” she said in an interview with Harpers Bazaar Singapore.
She completed the look with a necklace made of diamonds she received from her parents as well as her husband through the years.
"Putting them together to make one special piece feels like weaving the chapters of my life together to form a story—a story that I can wear on my neck. I can look at each stone and tell you their story; they're that special to me," she said.
Dreamy venue
The two renewed their vows at The Royal Balesin Villa, which was transformed into this heavenly look by event stylist Badang Rueda.
It had pillars of soft white fabric resembling a blooming flower, which gave the entire a glowing look. Its corners were adorned with white flowers and grey tulle fabric on the ceiling that mimicked the soft movement of fog.
The lovely bride walked down a mirror aisle, which perfectly matched its overall theme.
It was followed by a reception with a gold and glass motif, giving it a striking accent, as seen on the candelabra and tables.

Making the event extra special was the bride's mom Cecilia Ongpauco, who walked her down aisle. In case you didn’t know, Heart previously revealed that her parents skipped her wedding with Chiz in 2015 as they did not want her to be in a relationship with the politician.
In a 2021 vlog, however, Cecilia expressed her support for their love, saying that what she likes about their marriage is he “allows [Heart] to grow, mature on her own.”
Renewal of vows

In another photo posted by one of the attendees, Heart can be seen turning emotional during the reception.
According to Chiz, the renewal of their wedding vows is a way to celebrate all the good news they've been receiving lately.
"Only because we have a lot of things to celebrate which I guess we would be able to say or announce in the next couple of months to our friends. It's not really something that the public needs to know, coming from us, but there's a lot to celebrate in life right now," he shared in an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila last month.
Heart Evangelista sings In Love With You with Mark Bautista
Apart from her talent in acting and making art, longtime fans of the actress know that she also sings well. During the reception, Heart, alongside singer Mark Bautista sang their own version of Regine Velasquez’s In Love With You.
Bautista served as the wedding singer of the special affair. He sang Gary Valenciano’s I Will Be Here while Heart walked down the aisle.
Heart and Chiz show their goofy side
Heart and Chiz showed their goofy side during their wedding by singing and dancing with their guests.
In an Instagram story, the two can be seen laughing and playfully dancing to Telefone by Sheena Easton. They are later seen jamming out to the timeless track Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.
The vow renewal ceremony came almost two years after breakup speculations between Heart and Chiz spread on social media for months. The rumors began in 2022 when the actress removed “Escudero” from her Instagram name. They circulated even further after she admitted she was going through some “personal struggles” and revealed she bought her own place in Paris.
She indirectly shut down the rumors in December of the same year by posting a photo of herself with the caption: “Walking around Paris before heading home for New Year. P.S. See you soon, @escuderochiz.”
The couple welcomed 2023 as a couple and have since been spotted in several locations together.
