Lady Gaga and Jake Gyllenhaal cozy up for 'Variety’s' Actors on Actors issue
Multi-award winning singer Lady Gaga and Academy-winning actor Jake Gyllenhaal grace the latest cover of Variety’s Actors on Actors issue looking like they’ve known each other for years.
As Variety reported, Gaga and Gyllenhaal had only first met on the set but have appeared to hit things off well during the shoot as they look very comfortable posing with each other.
With the production team directing their shoot, Gyllenhaal joked about holding someone by the waist for the first time. “I’ve never held anyone like this,” the Donnie Darko star said.
Gaga was quick to add on, calling her and Gyllenhaal “mommy and daddy.” Gaga quipped: “Mommy and Daddy love each other. Good job, honey.”
For this issue, the duo also sat down to talk about many things but with great concentration on their latest movies—Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci and Gyllenhaal as a 911 operator in The Guilty. Gyllenhaal shared his admiration for the singer-turned-actress.
Gyllenhaal said: “I am amazed at how you are and have established yourself in music and songwriting in this extraordinary, mind-boggling way. And then you’ve somehow seamlessly been able to come into the world of storytelling in another form.
Gaga was also one to praise Gyllenhaal for his lead role in the crime thriller. Gaga lauded: “I was really moved by your ability to go to the bottom throughout the whole film. I was really struck by a true belief that he was in a tremendous amount of pain and he was so sad.”
This newest Actors on Actors issue has been released since Jan. 26 and is available for a limited time only.
Both stars had previously been on the same feature. Gaga went side-by-side with Jamie Lee Curtis and with Lin-Manuel Miranda in June 2016, while Gyllenhaal conversed with Patricia Arquette and Margot Robbie in November 2017.
