Kris Aquino returns to Malacañang for lunch
Kris Aquino took a trip down memory lane as she visited Bahay Pangulo Friday at the invitation of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. Kris and the first lady are related by affinity.
“This is my belated birthday lunch for Kris,” the first lady said.
Bahay Pangulo in Malacañang Park is the official residence of the first family. Kris and her sons Josh and Bimby lived there for six months when her late brother Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was president. The last time she visited the Palace was in 2016.
There was a surprise guest—President Marcos himself. He and Kris greeted each other warmly. Though he didn’t stay long, the President told Kris she was looking “really well.”
The lunch was organized by designer Michael Leyva, a close friend of both the first lady and Kris.
Kris is battling several autoimmune diseases, including fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease. Last month, she was discharged after six weeks in the hospital. She said that she will "discuss my health challenges when the #KrisPodcast is ready for your viewing and listening, and experts can explain to you why every day God gives is simply 'borrowed time.'
