Drag queen Jiggly Caliente dies at 44
Drag performer Jiggly Caliente has passed away aged 44.
Her family announced her death on Sunday, April 27 on her Instagram page.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente," they said, adding that she passed away peacefully at 4:42 a.m., "surrounded by her loving family and close friends."
"A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity," they continued. "She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world."
Her loved ones described the drag star's legacy as "one of love, courage, and light."
"Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever," they said. "She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered."
This came a few days after her family shared that she experienced a "serious health setback." In an April 24 post, they said, "Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalized and, as a result, had undergone the loss of most of her right leg."
Jiggly appeared on the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She also starred as Veronica Ferocity on Pose and served as a main judge on the first three seasons of Drag Race Philippines.
