BLACKPINK's Jisoo dispells solo comeback rumors, says she's focusing on her acting career
BLACKPINK's Jisoo brushed off solo comeback rumors, saying that she will be focusing on her acting career for the time being.
"The solo comeback [rumors] are different from the truth," said Jisoo's agency BLISSOO.
This came after Xportsnews reported that the K-pop idol-turned-actress was in the final stages of preparing for her "solo comeback scheduled for this year," with plans to shoot a music video later this month.
BLISSOO also added that Jisoo has focused on acting more than singing since establishing her label.
Jisoo is set to star in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint alongside A-list Korean actors, including Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, Nana, Park Ho San, and Choi Young Joon.
She will also appear in the upcoming South Korean television series Newtopia with Park Jeong-min. The series is a fantasy romance about a soldier and his girlfriend who run towards each other through downtown Seoul after being attacked by zombies infected with an unknown virus.
Before this, she also headlined the 2021 historical tragedy drama Snowdrop with Jung Hae-in.
Meanwhile, Jisoo began her soloist career by launching her first solo album, ME, on March 31 last year. She was the fourth and last BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut, following Lisa's LALISA, Rosé's R in 2021, and Jennie's Solo in 2018.
The 29-year-old singer's first EP features two tracks—FLOWER and All Eyes on Me—which can be streamed on Spotify and Apple Music.
In February, she established her own label, BLISSOO.
