Cardi B recalls 'freak accident' that left her 'paralyzed' and nearly caused miscarriage

Cardi B looked back at a recent accident she faced, which left her in a state of paralysis and nearly made her lose her baby.

The rapper detailed what happened in her X spaces chat, following her announcement that she will welcome her third child soon.

"I had a f**king freak accident... It doesn’t really happen often, but it became something that is so big to the point I was literally paralyzed. But yeah. And that little thing almost cost me my little one to come. But it didn’t," Cardi shared.

Recalling the incident, Cardi explained that she was going down the stairs when she lost her footing and had a nasty fall.

"I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding onto the railing, but I still slipped and I kind of bust my ass," Cardi recounted.

She felt a "weird jerk" on the side of her body and called her father when she couldn't get back on her feet again. While she felt pain in her lower stomach and couldn't walk properly, Cardi brushed off these signs and took a nap in hopes of subsiding the pain.

But things worsened from there. "When I woke up, I couldn’t move my bottom at all. Just moving my feet was hurting the bottom of my stomach. I couldn’t move, I felt paralyzed."

The pain she felt was so severe that she had to call an ambulance to rush her to the hospital, where she found out that the fall had caused her to tear a ligament in her pelvis right where her baby’s head is.

"I dilated and I was having contractions every two minutes for a whole 24 hours, so they had to monitor me. I was in a lot of pain, I couldn’t move for two days straight," Cardi said.

While the 31-year-old music artist said that she "felt good" after being in the hospital because she was "high as a kite" on morphine that the doctors gave her, her ill condition returned the next day when she felt "a lot of pain" again.

"I don’t give a f**k. I’m gonna exaggerate this s**t so I get more morphine. Morphine me down. I don’t give a damn," Cardi said. "This is why people be addicted to drugs because I ain’t gonna lie to you, when them motherf**kers were shooting that morphine into me, every four hours, I was waiting for my s**t."

Cardi recently announced on Instagram that she is expecting her third child, writing, "With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!"

"Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!" she added.

Her pregnancy news came one day after she filed for divorce from her husband Offset after six years of marriage. They have two children together: 6-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave.

The pair have had an on-and-off again relationship since they tied the knot in September 2017. They previously called it quits in 2018, but reconciled briefly before Cardi filed for divorce in September 2020, which was later canceled.
