LOOK: Herlene Budol celebrates birthday with a photo shoot that pays homage to her past
To celebrate her 24th birthday, Miss Philippines Tourism Herlene Budol had a glamorous birthday photoshoot taken in her hometown, Angono, Rizal.
On Instagram, the comedienne-turned-beauty queen shared snaps taken by Jomar Franche as she looked back on her life.
The photos were a juxtaposition of her glamorous appearance and the humble setting, which represented her simple life.
Herlene wore a white serpentine gown by Leo Almodal, the same designer who made her Miss Grand Philippines evening gown, and her crown.
Looking back on her past, Herlene thanked everyone who helped her get to where she is today.
"Ang sarap balik balikan ang buhay kung saan ka nagsimula," she started.
"I am beyond grateful for those people who help me to grow and to become who I am today. Thank you Lord it’s my birthday."
Herlene rose to fame as the "Hipon Girl" on the variety show Wowowin.
She entered pageantry in 2022 and landed as first runner-up at Bb. Pilipinas of that year. She later was crowned Miss Tourism Philippines 2023 at the Miss Grand Philippines beauty pageant held on July 13.
Herlene recently made rounds on social media after announcing in a vlog that she is "signing off" from joining beauty pageants. However, she later took back her statement and clarified that she is just taking a break from competing.
Aside from pageantry, Herlene has also tried her chops in acting. Currently, she stars in GMA's Magandang Dilag as Georgina "Gigi" De Jesus-Robles together with Maxine Medina, Rob Gomez, Benjamin Alves, and others.
