'Drag Race Philippines' season 3's J Quinn hopes fans remember her Asian pop runways, girl group performance
Drag Race Philippines season 3 delivered what is said to be the best Snatch Game yet.
The latest episode, which aired on Sept. 4, earned rave reviews and a 9.9 out of 10 stars rating on film and TV site IMDb. It saw the show's nine queens impersonate characters and personalities such as María Clara, Baron Geisler, Angel Locsin, and even Kamatayan and the Babae sa Balete Drive.
While host Paolo Ballesteros said this season had the "best Snatch Game ever" so far, two queens still fell in the bottom: J Quinn, who transformed into Chinese philosopher Confucius, and Zymba Ding, who impersonated Wilma Doesnt.
At the end of the lip sync to Geronimo by RuPaul, J Quinn was told to sashay away.
PhilSTAR L!fe got to talk to J Quinn in a Zoom roundtable interview, where she talked about her exit from the show.
The Caloocan City-based queen shared that her favorite challenge to do was the girl group challenge, wherein she wrote a verse and performed to Dapat Pakak.
"[The girl group challenge was] something that I felt like that I [would] succeed in. I felt like I was going to be even in the top for that," she told L!fe. "But because of my cosmetic procedures, I didn't really get in the top for that episode. [My] only critique for that episode was my stiff lips."
"I do music out of drag, so writing isn't a very new concept to me," she added.
With her Drag Race journey coming to an end, J Quinn hopes that fans will remember her for her Asian pop looks.
"I hope they remember the very on-brand runways that I've been giving. I hope they remember the verse that I wrote for Dapat Pakak. That is basically my proudest moment," the drag queen shared. "What I don't want them to remember is me yapping my mouth."
In the most recent episode of Drag Race Philippines companion show Untucked, J Quinn also talked about changing up her Asian aesthetic as she left. Months after filming, she still chooses to stay true to her passions and show them through her drag.
"I'm still going to be sticking with my brand. And actually, I think I'm going to be hammering down more on the Asian aesthetic this time around."
