Chappell Roan isn't prioritizing winning a Grammy Award just yet.

After winning Best New Artist at the MTV VMAs, the Hot To Go! singer talked about the upcoming Grammys.

"I'm kind of hoping I don't win, because then everyone will get off my ass: 'See guys, we did it and we didn't win, bye!" she told The Face, adding that her mom would've loved to go the coming awards show or the Brits.

What's more important for Chappell is making her music career "sustainable."

"That's my biggest goal right now. My brain is like: quit right now, take next year off," she said.

"This industry and artistry f*****g thrive on mental illness, burnout, overworking yourself, overextending yourself, not sleeping. You get bigger the more unhealthy you are. Isn't that so f****d up?" the singer added. "The ambition is: how do I not hate myself, my job, my life, and do this? Because right now, it’s not working. I’m just scrambling to try to feel healthy.”

Earlier in August, Chappell took to TikTok to speak out against fans who show "creepy behavior," such as harassing and stalking, just because of her celebrity status.

"Would you go up to a random lady and say, 'Can I get a photo with you?' And she's like, 'No, what the f***?' and then you get mad at this random lady? Would you be offended if she says no to your time because she has her own time?" the Pink Pony Club singer said.

"It’s weird how people think that you know a person just because you see them online and you listen to the art they make,” she said. “That’s f***ing weird. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior,

Chappell released her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in September 2023 and blew up online since. She won her first Moon Person for best new artist, dedicating her trophy to queer and trans people that "fuel pop."

The 26-year-old singer is best known for her hits Good Luck, Babe!, Red Wine Supernova, Hot to Go!, Pink Pony Club, and more.

The next Grammy Awards will be held in February 2025.
