The 2024 MTV Music Video Awards held on Sept. 12 PH time has concluded. That evening, the ceremony debuted some new categories, including Most Iconic Performance.

In a historic moment, Taylor Swift added seven more wins to her VMA trophy case, officially surpassing Beyoncé (who has 26) as the most-awarded artist in the show's history. Taylor now has 30 VMA awards.

Her song Fortnight, in collaboration with Post Malone, alone won five awards, including Video of the Year. In her speech, she said: “There is a very clear reason why Post Malone is everyone in music's favorite person to collaborate with," she began, before addressing Post: "It is because you are so ridiculously talented. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan took home her first Moon Person award. She thanked the LGBTQ+ community, especially “the drag queens who inspired me.”
