Maymay Entrata clarifies baptism post not about ex-boyfriend: 'Do not take this against him'

Maymay Entrata celebrated Easter Sunday by undergoing a Christian baptism and opening up about how she "took the wrong path" sometime in 2021. She, however, clarified that the said experience wasn't about her ex-beau.

In an Instagram post, the actress and singer posted a series of videos where she could be seen being submerged in a large tub for her baptism ceremony.

"I’ve been a Christian since 2015, got lost when I entered the industry, was invited and attended favor church last 2019, took the wrong path again [in 2021.] [It was] not until 2023, when I slowly came back to Him," Maymay recalled in her caption.

"When He wrapped His arms around me, without condemning who I was and what I did, it was my turn to surrender all that I am and all that I do for Him—acknowledging that it is He who is in control of my life and not me," she continued, adding that by seeking God, she knew that "everything will fall into its right place."

Maymay went on to express her hope on how "the old is gone and the new has come" when it comes to her life.

"I am still not perfect, I am still flawed but the great thing is that I know where and who I [belong] to!" she highlighted.

According to the Pinoy Big Brother Season Seven winner, something extraordinary happened during the recording of her baptism ceremony after she got up from the water.

"I noticed that the color of the video suddenly changed. I didn’t bother about it, but then I remember someone gave me another video earlier, and then I got goosebumps because the light was from outside, above the sky," Maymay recounted, adding that the incident made her remember the time when Jesus was baptized by John.

When her fans saw her post, however, some began speculating that Maymay was referring to her former non-showbiz boyfriend when she talked about how she "took a wrong path again" in 2021.

But the local star posted a clarification statement on X stressing that while she and Aaron have indeed broken up, she was referring to another sad incident in her life.

"Gusto ko lang po mag explain ng kaunti about doon sa last post ko sa IG. 'I took a wrong path again nung 2021,' it was my past trauma po. I was hurt and so I hurt other people even the people I love," Maymay wrote.

She implored, "I’m asking lang po sana to be kind especially po from my past relationship (Aaron). Do not take this against him. From the bottom of my heart maraming salamat po."

Maymay made her romance with Aaron Haskell, who is based in Canada, Instagram official back in February 2022. They have since been in a long-distance relationship until eagle-eyes online users noticed in March that Maymay is no longer following Aaron, leading to rumors that they have already parted ways.
