Hwang Bo-ra gives birth to first child
South Korean actress Hwang Bo-ra has officially entered motherhood!
The good news came after Bo-ra's agency, WALKHOUSE COMPANY, announced on May 23 that the actress has welcomed her first child who she has nicknamed "Oh Deok."
"We would like to inform you that actress Hwang Bo Ra gave birth to a healthy son this afternoon on May 23. Both the mother and son are in good health and are currently resting under the care of her family," the agency wrote, according to a report from Soompi.
"We express our gratitude to everyone who has shown their blessings and support to Hwang Bo Ra and Oh Deok (baby’s nickname). We hope you continue to show warm regards and love," they added.
Bo-ra first shared that she was pregnant with her child with her husband Cha Hyun-woo back in November last year.
"It has been exactly one year since we got married, and God presented us a baby angel," the actress captioned her photo of her baby's ultrasound.
"After I met my husband and got married, I’ve been living a happy life as we bicker, seeking more affection from one another. But I never thought that there would be greater happiness than this," she added.
Bo-ra went on to highlight how this is the first time where she "felt this kind of love" that makes her want to give everything that she has.
"My little angel, Oh Deok (baby’s nickname), who taught me what it is like to love someone like they are my own body before I knew I was going to become a mother. Thank you for coming to me," she ended.
Many of her fans showered her with their congratulatory messages, especially after she opened up about how she experienced a period of infertility issues.
Bo-ra tied the knot with Hyun-woo in November 2022 after 10 years of being together.
She first became popular after she played a quirky-looking "cup noodle girl" in a ramyeon commercial before landing roles in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Arang and the Magistrate, The Eldest, and Cunning Single Lady.
