Kristel Fulgar gets candid on why she's not ready for a relationship with Korean suitor yet
Kristel Fulgar opened up on a relationship dilemma she is facing with her Korean suitor.
The Filipino content creator and actress recently shared with fans that she is being wooed by a man she met in Korea, but in an interview with GMA, she revealed that she is not yet ready to be in an official relationship because of her religion.
"Hindi ko pa kasi siya pwede talagang masabi na boyfriend ko kahit pwede ko na sabihin na gusto ko talaga 'yung tao kasi hindi pa siya member ng church ko. Kasi INC [Iglesia ni Cristo] ako," Kristel explained.
"Kailangan sa church namin same religion. Kaya sabi ko, 'Hindi ko muna ia-announce hangga't wala akong clarification or wala akong parang assurance na willing siya to join my church,'" she added.
Despite having mutual feelings with her suitor, Kristel prioritizes doing things the right way based on her faith and her church's practices.
"Sinabi ko rin sa vlog ko na gusto ko naman siya. Pero hindi talaga kasi I need to stick to my beliefs and principles, na kailangan super legal na and legal din sa church," the local star said.
"Para walang guilt feeling sa akin na may ginagawa akong mali kasi very careful akong tao and ayoko nakakagawa ng mali. Ayokong nakakagawa ng parang against sa mom ko at kay God," she added.
She initially didn't want to reveal details of her love life to her fans yet, but she eventually changed her mind after her suitor showed her how serious he was in winning her heart by agreeing to convert.
"Nung naka-process na siya na mag-convert, doon ako nagkalakas ng loob, 'Sige, i-share ko na ito sa ibang tao.' Pero hindi siya mabilisang proseso kasi it will take months kaya months din yung hihintayin niya at hihintayin ng mga tao," Kristel said.
The actress first revealed that she has a Korean suitor in her YouTube vlog published on Feb. 9, where she compiled clips of their dates in the Ludensia theme park and Nami Island.
In the comments section, some of her fans expressed their delight at her new-found love.
"I’m so glad to see Kristel happy, smiling and laughing. I hope they’ll be happy and stay together for a long time!" one user wrote.
