Kendra Kramer has come to the defense of her parents, Doug and Chesca Kramer, amid online criticism accusing them of being controlling and taking advantage of their daughter’s involvement in show business.

The 17-year-old addressed the comments in an Instagram post, saying it was her own decision to speak up about her family and that her parents did not ask her to defend them.

Kendra said she wanted people to know how much she loves and appreciates her parents, whom she considers important figures in her life.

“I truly do not know how I could be the kind of Christ-like daughter I am without the guidance of my mom and my dad,” she wrote.

Kendra also addressed criticism surrounding her career in show business, saying her decision to enter the industry was discussed with her parents.

According to Kendra, her parents asked whether these were things she genuinely wanted to pursue. She said she willingly chose to continue because she enjoys modeling and working with her family.

“My parents have never ever taken advantage of me,” Kendra said.

She also pushed back against claims that her parents control her life, pointing to her friendships, sports activities, and regular schooling.

Kendra said she has her own social life with her friends and sports, while her parents allow her to spend time with friends and guide her in her athletic activities.

“I love swimming so much, and it’s only because of them I was able to find such passion for that sport,” she wrote.

Kendra also shared her personal view of her parents and the role they play in her life.

She described her father as the “most generous, most kind, and most protective person” she knows, while asking people not to make assumptions about him based on what they see online.

Kendra explained that she often asks her father to accompany her to events because his presence makes her feel more comfortable.

“I am introverted and having my parents by my side in events gives me comfort and security, especially because I am a minor,” she said.

She likewise described her mother as a “God-fearing, kind-hearted, and humble” person.

“My parents are my role models in my life,” she wrote. “They are the happiest, most loving couple I know.”

Kendra ended her message by asking people to stop directing hate and negativity toward her family.

“Please stop the negativity and hate. It hurts me to see the people I love getting spoken about like this online,” she wrote.

Kendra is the eldest child of Doug, a former professional basketball player, and Chesca, a former actress and television host.
