Leni Robredo's daughter Aika gets married, honors late father with gown
Aika Robredo, the daughter of former vice president Leni Robredo, has now tied the knot with her partner Jim Guzman—and she made sure to honor her late father during her big day.
Leni, who's currently Naga City mayor, shared a photo of Aika and Jim in their wedding attire at a church on Dec. 29.
Aika was a radiant bride in a classic off-the-shoulder gown with a rich lace texture, while Jim complemented her timeless look by wearing a traditional cream-colored Barong Tagalog.
In the caption, Leni shared a deeply personal detail on how her eldest daughter's outfit was made.
"Aika’s wedding gown was lovingly crafted from her Papa’s old barongs, making sure that he was honored and cherished on such an important milestone," she wrote.
To recall, Leni's husband, former Interior and Local Government secretary Jesse Robredo, passed away in 2012 when the light aircraft he was traveling in crashed off the coast of Masbate after suffering an engine failure.
Before the wedding, Leni had shared photos of the Robredo clan reuniting to celebrate the occasion. She could be seen posing with Aika as well as her two other daughters, Tricia and Jillian.
Aika's wedding comes as her sister Tricia recently revealed that she has been engaged since last year. She shared the news on Instagram with a carousel of photos from the proposal, which took place in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
