Anne Curtis has 'Andy Sachs moment' in front of Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep

Published Apr 13, 2026 1:51 pm

Anne Curtis just acted out a classic The Devil Wears Prada moment in front of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, except it wasn't part of the script.

Recently, Curtis interviewed the two Hollywood stars in Tokyo as part of their press tour for the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2

Ahead of the interview, as Hathaway invited Curtis for a photo, Curtis tripped over one of the microphones placed on the floor in front of the actresses. As Curtis apologized, Hathaway could be heard off-screen assuring Curtis, "You're not the first and you won't be the last."

As Hathaway ushered an embarrassed Curtis to stand between her and Streep, Hathaway kicked the felled microphone out of the way, eliciting laughter.

"Had my Andy Sachs moment as soon as I walked in. Ako lang talaga e noh? Of all times!" Curtis wrote on social media, captioning the video.

In The Devil Wears Prada, Andy Sachs, played by Hathaway, is the second assistant to Streep's Miranda Priestly, the iconic editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Runway. Initially, Andy is an awkward addition to the team until she blooms into a fashion icon herself.

With her accident, Curtis inadvertently projected Andy in front of the two women who would know Andy best.

"After that, my heart rate was hitting the roof, until their warmth took over," Curtis added. "As an actress myself, it was such an honor to meet them."

"Laban!" Isabelle Daza commented with a laughing emoji.

Antoinette Taus expressed her full support for Curtis: "Sis! So happy for you! Forever adorable and always a star! Congratulations!"

Raymond Gutierrez and Liz Uy reached out with laughing and heart emojis, while Tim Yap wrote, "Represent!" with a mix of heart and Philippine flag emojis.

"The fangirling is unspeakable! I felt your nerves and kilig all throughout! I would've passed out if that was me," wrote a follower.

"Ikaw ba naman, makakaharap mo si Anne Hathaway at si Meryl Streep, hindi ka matataranta?" said another.

"Your entrance is so unique and for sure it's a memorable one for them. Tho kinabahan ako sa last question mo... I thought you will sing a few lines with them," teased another.

Wrapping up her interview, she asked Streep and Hathaway what song they would assign to Miranda or Andy, to which Hathaway replied, "Nessun Dolore," and Streep said it would be a song by Donna Summer or Cher.

Elsewhere in the interview, Curtis asked Hathaway and Streep what they thought of the first film inspiring "a whole generation to fall in love with fashion" and then growing up to pursue their dreams in the fashion industry.

"Isn't that incredible?" said Hathaway. "We definitely couldn't have understood the impact that it would have and the way the audiences would just turn it into something that was much bigger than we ever could have dared hope."

Later on, Curtis asked Hathaway what piece of advice she would give to Andy Sachs in the audience to encourage them to be true to themselves.

Hathaway replied with a tip she said she'd have loved to give herself back then. She said when situations become overwhelming, "it's always so much better to just make it about other people. If you're starting to feel [overwhelmed], ask somebody else about [their day]."

"I wish I heard that before walking into this room," joked Curtis, drawing laughter from Hathaway and Streep.

Nearing the conclusion of her interview, Curtis asked, "In a world where power can be taken away overnight, what does true influence really mean to the both of you right now?"

"What we're learning about our digital devices [is the] assessment it makes," said Streep. "It's all very ephemeral. And so you are canceled one day and everybody's moved on, you know, 200 swipes further."

"I'm so lucky that I had nothing but a mirror to show me what I didn't like about myself. My mother always said you are what you do with your life," she added.

"You are allowed to turn your phone off, walk away from it, and go for a walk," said Hathaway.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on April 29. Apart from Streep and Hathaway, also reprising their roles are Stanley Tucci as Nigel and Emily Blunt as Emily.
