Jessie J is now cancer-free: 'I sobbed for hours'

Published May 24, 2026 5:01 pm

Jessie J is now cancer-free!

The Price Tag singer took to Instagram to share the news. She posted a reel of herself at the doctor's office for her yearly checkup.

"I'm actually s******g myself, I'm not gonna lie. They told me there was no contrast, but I think there is based on this," she said, holding up her arm injected with what appears to be a contrast agent. "Gotta go in for my MRI, pretend I'm not claustrophobic."

She then shared that having a breast MRI entails lying on your belly and having your arms out like Superman.

"Fingers crossed. All good, all good. Positive vibes," she said, singing a line from Bob Marley's Don't Worry About a Thing."

The singer then revealed the results in the caption: "I AM CANCER FREE," she wrote.

"I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year."

Jessie J first revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2025. She underwent surgery twice: once in the same month and again in August of that year.

The artist postponed and canceled some of her concerts in the US and the UK while she recovered.

Jessie J opened up about her battle with cancer during her No Secrets Tour on Jan. 28 in New York.

"Having breast cancer 10 days before releasing [a new album for the first time] in years was honestly the [rudest] thing that my boobs could've ever done," she said as per PEOPLE.

"It was a weird time. It was most interesting. It was like Jessica and Jessie J had to hold each other. And Jessica got Jessie J through, and Jessie J got Jessica through, and I mean that as a parent, as a performer, as a friend, as a sister, as a daughter, as a mum. All of them just kind of became one."

Jessie, who's known for her hits Domino, Bang Bang, Do It Like A Dude, Flashlight, and more, is in a relationship with basketball player Chanan Colman, with whom she shares her first child.
