Mariel Padilla is in hot water after she conducted an intravenous (IV) drip session at the Senate office of her husband, Robin Padilla.

In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, the television host and actress posted a picture of herself in the middle of the treatment in the Senate office. She was there with her husband to support the "Eddie Garcia" bill, which was recently approved by the upper house on the third and final reading.

"Drip anywhere is our motto, hehehe," Mariel captioned the post.

"I had an appointment with Drip in Luxe, but I was going to be late so I had it done in my husband's office. I never miss a drip because it really helps in so many ways," she added.

She explained that its benefits include collagen production, whitening, energy, metabolism, immunity, and so much more, which is why she regards it as "so convenient and really effective."

In a separate Instagram reel that had also been deleted, she further expounded on why she conducted the treatment in Robin's Senate office.

"Drip anywhere, kasi kailangan consistent tayo sa vitamins na nilalagay natin sa ating katawan and si Drip in Luxe really helped me with so many things, so hindi na ako sakitin, and I just feel so much better," she said.

"Try niyo rin yung style ko na drip anywhere," she encouraged.

However, several social media users pointed out how Mariel acted inappropriately in conducting the medical treatment in a prestigious building as the Senate.

"Naku po naman, Mariel. Hanggang sa Senado dala-dala mo pa yang arte sa buhay. Senado po yan para sa batas! Hindi po yan beauty salon!" one user on X criticized.

"No decency in the senate. Is this the type of imagery you want to convey to the Filipino public, Senate of the Philippines?" another one added.

Others said, "Grabe! May right place for that, 'di ba pwede ipagpaliban?"

An IV drip is a type of IV therapy where nutrients and hydration are delivered directly into the bloodstream for immediate absorption and use by the body through a plastic catheter inserted into the vein.
